Happy Labor Day! I can only offer my gratitude for all the hard working people who keep our country going. My hubby is working today (go figure!). With that whole Navy experience, we're accustomed to him working through the holidays. That's ok, though - we enjoy the time he does have off!
We are so ready for the fall! College football started up this weekend - yayy!! This is my favorite time of the year :) We're getting into bicycling this fall. Yesterday, I picked out my bike and we bought Emma a super cute pull-behind trailer. Caleb's getting his bike tonight. We are so excited! It's so nice to live in an area where we can just take off on a bike ride!
Saturday, we spent much of the day loving Emma. Since she's just over 18 months old, I realized how fast the time is going by. Sooo we decided to have "one last baby bash" for her. I made a tutu dress for her and we captured some really cute pictures! Then, we made her handprints and footprints. To top it off, we went to a cupcakery here in Bryan/College Station. It was AMAZING! Emma loved her cupcake - ok, we all enjoyed our cupcakes!
Which leads me to think maybe I should try making some super cute homemade cupcakes. I can't stand using out-of-the-box cake mixes and I can make icing...This week, I'll be picking up some decorating tips and a new cupcake pan. I'm thinking banana bread cupcakes or sweet potato or maybe something crazy like zucchini? Also, I found out how easy it is to make natural dye for icing - yayyy!!! Another pet peeve: artificial food dye. Yuck! At any rate, I can't wait for my first cupcake project!
Until next time,
