Homemade All-Natural Pesticide
This recipe is super easy and very quick to whip up! I just made it for the first time today, so I'll have to let you know how it works. I will warn you - it is quite pungent. I'd imagine it would need to be, to keep the bugs off my plants!!! Here's the recipe, enjoy!
- 4 Jalapeno peppers (sliced)
- 1 onion (diced)
- 1 clove garlic (cut up or crushed)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 cups HOT water
- 1 spray bottle
1) Put all ingredients together in one container. Tip: Use a measuring cup. You'll need to pour your "tea" out of this later.
2) Set the container outside with either its lid or something covering the top. Let this brew for about 2 hours.
3) Strain your goodbye-bug tea into the spray bottle.
I use this every other day or after it rains, whichever happens first. It's perfectly safe for any plants - flowering, veggies and fruits! It has a very organic smell, which is wayyy better than nostril-burning chemical smell (to me, anyway). Ohh, and a quick tip: don't substitute garlic or onion powder. I did this and buh-lieve me, it was a pain in the butt to strain!
Happy gardening!
Until next time,
