Home Remedies for Ringworm
Heather Hawkins on June 17, 2012
Here are a few tips for treating ringworm at home.
Ringworm is a fungus, and treatment of ringworm must include an anti-fungal. Here are a few ways to get rid of this unsightly visitor:
1) Natural treatment – Tea tree oil is a great alternative to over-the-counter anti-fungals. Applied topically 2-3 times per day, results should be seen within a week.
2) OTC – An over-the-counter anti-fungal containing miconazole or coltrimazole, used as directed, can help. Frugal tip – look for store brand anti-fungals. They work just as well for less money!
3) If the ringworm is resistant to these remedies after about a week, or if it worsens/spreads, you’ll want to get checked out by a medical professional – especially if the person with the ringworm is a child.
